The eclipse

There once was a legend that spoke of a beast.

So ravenous was it's hunger,
That he devoured everything with his maw.
Mountains, Lakes, and even thunder,
All fell victims to this law.

Until the day the moon conspired,
and whispered to her brother sun.
"We should put an end to his empire.
And while we're at it, why not have a little fun?"

When the night came she whispered,
Of what he'd not obtained.
"My brother sun is still unconquered,
And the sky is HIS domain"

The beast roared in laughter,
Right before he sang.
"I can eat to my heart's desire
and none can resist my fang!"

Climbing into the sky; He took a bite out of the sun
striking darkness and fear into the heart of everyone.

Before they'd know it, the sun was no more
He'd devoured it all, even it's molten core.

Looking to the moon,
The beast grinned and flexed
"It was over much too soon,
Maybe I should eat you next."

But the moon only smiled,
As though he'd only eaten cake.
It was only then that the beast realized,
His stomach had quite the ache.

He twisted and he cried; For the pain was quite atrocious.
Still he kept the sun inside, why lose something so delicious?

When the sun finally escaped, his stomach was raw and seared
The light returned to the world, and everyone cheered.

Full of shame and feeling weak,
The beast went hiding in the snow.
Now that he had known defeat,
He would not terrorize them so.

Still the beast yearns
for taste of the sun so bright.
And some say he sometimes returns...
and tries to make things right.

So if you sometimes see the sun,
Be devoured from the very sky.
Do not fear and do not run...

Because now, you all know why.

Snow in April

Alright, so maybe "1 post a week" was a bit too generous for an achievable goal....at least for me anyway.

Do any of you have that problem? No, I guess not... right. I mean if you don't have the drive to keep up with a blog, you wouldn't have one in the first place. Most of you make sense. Which leads me to wonder why I still obstinate to create a blog and write posts that nobody will read.

Well, I guess the answer to that should be obvious. Like every human being on this earth... I suppose I just feel the need to be heard. I don't believe I have anything of value to say though. I've just seen and read so many blogs out there, with interesting opinions and rants that I just adore skipping through and commenting on. Somehow, I don't think I would be able to bring the same level of entertainment to what I write. Thus, I've neglected every single blog I've ever created (including this one... Omg has it really been over 2 months since my last post???)

Despite my obvious lack of discipline in the matter, I am nevertheless persistent.

I believe my last post spoke of my health, and of the steps I was taking in order to remedy some of the problems I had? Well, just to update on that: I followed that ideology for about two weeks and then started slipping into old habits (don't we all?). Exercise is still sparse, though my eating habits have definitely improved. I've lost a bit of weight since then, maybe 5 pounds, and though it's not much... I do see it as a step in the right direction.

I'd like to point out that a snowy day is not acceptable on a 20th of April. =/
Get your act together, Mother Nature!

A Brand New Mindset

When we're younger, we live our lives the way we want to without giving much thoughts to the consequences. In my case? I was very well aware of the consequences, I just didn't give a damn. Until now...

I come from a family that has a lot of history when it comes to health problems. Diabetes, Cholesterol, Heart problems, Cancer; You name it. So deep inside, I always knew I was at risk. On top of that, I'm not really a lightweight. My dad was raised in a family where you had to finish your plate and ask for seconds, or else they'd think you were feeling ill or something. I won't deny it, I love to eat. I love to taste things and sample them. Eating isn't just a necessity, it's also a pleasure in some case. Unfortunately, that pleasure (coupled with a habit of sitting on the couch every evening) can come and bite you in the ass sometimes.

Well that time may not be now, but it may be soon. So I decided to change my ways.

Eat healthier smaller portions and exercise were added to my goals this year. I've already begun some of those changes already and have started to measure my portions instead of going for seconds. I've also started to attend water aerobic classes. It may sound like a sudden change of lifestyle, but I think I'll be okay with it. After all, I've got the support of so many; my friends, my family, and my soul mate. <3

So here's to a new life, a better life, in 2011!

Here we go again!

So here it is! New account, new blog, new everything!

My goal here? Actually keep this thing alive. Every other Blog I've had in the past have all failed/ fallen inactive/ died/ kicked the bucket... Well, you get the idea. I've tried holding an Art blog, A butterfly observation blog, A project blog, and so far none of them worked. So I've decided to try again. Only this time, I'm going to make this an 'everything' blog. From Art to Life, to whatever else tickles my fancy.

For now, the blog is pretty much basic. I've spent nearly a whole day trying to find THE blogger template that spoke to me the most and here it is. But I don't plan on sticking with it too long. I'd like to learn how to make my own template (even though I fail when it comes to coding and html and all that jazz...) Hey! Maybe one day I'll actually pay to have my own domain! Wouldn't that rock? Yes, yes it might... but for now, what you see is what you get.

I promise I'll try to keep this one alive, but if caring for a blog is anything like caring for a potted plant... Let's just say I've been buying a lot of plants lately.

Current Goal: One post per week (or more if I feel like it).
